Historical drama “The Tasters”
Shooting of the historical drama “The Tasters”, with which Italian director Silvio Soldini will give his German-language debut, begins tomorrow in South Tyrol. Elisa Schott, Alma Hasun and Max Riemelt are in front of the camera for the film adaptation of Rosella Postorino’s novel “At the Wolf’s Table”.
“The Tasters” is set in 1943 and tells the story of a group of nine women whose task it is to test Adolf Hitler’s meals in advance under the strict eyes of the SS at the Führer’s headquarters in Wolf’s Lair to ensure that they are not poisoned. “The Tasters”, for which Cristina Comencini, Ilaria Macchia and Giulia Calenda wrote the screenplay, is being produced by Milan’s Lumière & Co. in co-production with Belgium’s Tarantula.
