About Luis

15. Januar 2025

Constanze Brandt and Jens Brandt are a team, a couple, parents—and above all, they are both employed, trying to juggle the demands of work and family life. Between late-night taxi shifts and weekend office hours, they barely manage to hold their lives together, often meeting for rushed discussions in Jens‘ taxi during short breaks between work. Their son Luis is frequently shuffled between them as they navigate their hectic schedules. One day, a phone call from school throws their already fragile routine into chaos: Luis is being bullied. The cause of the bullying is his favorite unicorn backpack, a beloved item he’s encouraged not to bring to school anymore. But for Luis, getting rid of the backpack is non-negotiable. As tensions rise and the situation worsens, the family finds itself in deeper conflict. The taxi, which once served as their makeshift meeting point, turns into a kind of boxing ring—a small space where the parents are forced to confront broader, universal questions about parenting, identity, and societal expectations.
