Free Fall – Who You Are (Recut)
Career prospects with the riot police, offspring on the way, a semi-detached house pre-financed by his parents: Marc’s life is mapped out. But then he meets his colleague Kay (Max Riemelt) during a training course. Kay introduces him to a new sense of lightness while running together, leading to a developing relationship between the two men.
Thirteen years after the release of the drama Free Fall, director Stephan Lacant revisits the material in a new recut designed to bring his original artistic vision to life. By integrating previously unreleased footage into the narrative, Free Fall – Who You Are offers a different perspective on the characters‘ inner conflicts. AI technology was used for the foreign-language versions, applying a voice modulation based on Max Riemelt’s original voice, rendered in a notably higher register. The film examines the bond between the two officers as Marc’s life reacts to the tension between his familiar world and his relationship with Kay.
